Where To Take Your Dad For Father's Day In Mexico City
Father’s Day is tomorrow and if you still haven’t planned what you’re doing to celebrate him then we’re here to solve that for you. We put this guide together for you to take some inspiration from the places we’d take our fathers to celebrate their day. Keep scrolling to discover them!
Estoril
We’re starting off strong with a Mexico City culinary classic, as a matter of fact this place is probably already on your Dad’s favorite restaurant list and there’s good reason why. Their menu is international however it’s easy to distinguish the Oaxacan touch of Chef Miguel Cruz. Their escargots are perfectly executed and their mole negro is one of the best in town.
Zeru
If your Dad is a gourmet and loves Spanish cuisine then there’s no other place to celebrate than Zeru. It is without a doubt one of the City’s best tables and there’s no wonder why. Their wine list is perfectly paired to each of their dishes which are also carefully executed under the vigilant eye of Chef Arétxiga. Their seafood rice is otherworldly and their Getaria style sea bass is also a must-try.
Garum
If you’re looking for delicious Mediterranean food then Garum is the place to be. The attention to detail and respect for the products and food they serve there is easy to catch. If your Dad is a purist and loves good food without a rodeo, he’ll love this place. Their Chocolata clam with beer and sangrita is the perfect dish to start off with.
Elia Estiatorio
If you’re looking to take Dad out for something a little bit more fresh then we have the place for you. Elia Estiatorio offers genuine and traditional Greek dishes and is one of the latest restaurants to open in the City- which makes it a great option if you want to surprise Dad with something new. Their gyros are great but seafood is without a doubt their strong suit as well as dirty Martinis, order a bunch and cheers with Dad!
Carmela y Sal
If your Dad loves good food with a touch of creativity then we’re sure Carmela y Sal will spike up his interest. The food here is governed under the concept of a concert- there’s a prelude, an interlude, a climax and finally an outro- and the menu guides you through it. If there’s a must try in this place it has to be the fish in hoja santa al mone, we promise your Dad will enjoy himself ever so much!
Marmota
If you’re in a chiller mood with Dad this Sunday and you want to enjoy a slow afternoon then Marmota is the place for you. Located in one of the City’s prettiest squares (Plaza Rio de Janeiro) this place doesn’t only offer a calm ambience and great views, it also offers delicious Northwest style food AKA delicious, comfort food. We’re not joking when we say this place has the City’s best grilled cheese sandwich.
Merotoro
This delicious restaurant offers food from Baja with an urban touch and serves only fresh ingredients bought that day, which is also why they print a new menu everyday depending on what they got their hands on. Chef Jair Téllez pours his heart and creativity into each dish. If we had to recommend something it would 100% be the pig’s jaw with eggs, a true must-try.
Máximo Bistrot Local
A well known restaurant among Mexico City foodies, Máximo Bistrot is one of our favorite spots to take Dad this Sunday because of their delicious and extensive menu. We love Chef Garcia’s commitment to creating dishes born from fair trade and farming. We’d love to tell you what to order but the menu changes daily, either way we can promise your Dad will love it!
